Open Mic - Song Circle - Potluck

2:00-3:15 pm Meet/Greet, Song Circle 3:15 LIST SIGN-UP FOR OPEN STAGE 3:30-4:00 Featured Artist: Jim Bartlett 4:00-6:00 Open Stage Multiple mics and a keyboard/drums are provided. Each Song Circle participant can offer at least one song to the circle—bring sheet music or, if it is on ultimateguitar.com or elsewhere online, we can display it on the screen. Bringing food for the potluck is optional, please feel free to join in regardless. Entrees and side dishes are appreciated. There is usually too much junk food (cookies, chips, deserts). Suggested donation is $5 and Secular Hub members are free. Soft drinks and snacks are available for purchase. Open mic sets are four songs for < 8 acts, 3 if >= 8. No “acapella” performances, please--email the organizer if you need accompaniment, or propose the song during the Song Circle. The Secular Hub is a community center promoting education, wellness, and healing through social contact. Everyone is welcome!

Jim Bartlett

Featured Artist: Jim Bartlett is an accomplished songwriter, musician, and performing artist who began playing piano at 8 years of age and the guitar at 10.  Jim formed his first live band, “The Psychedelic Sound“ while in high school, not long after the arrival of The Beatles in the US, and his attendance at their live concert in Indianapolis, IN in 1964. Since then, Jim has appeared live on stage with various bands, performing original songs, as well as a wide range of covers in the rock, blues, country, folk, pop, and bluegrass genres.  He plays guitar, keyboard, mandolin, and harmonica, and performs both lead and backing vocals. Jim has written dozens of original songs, and runs a small recording studio, where he has recorded, mastered and produced music for himself and other artists, including the recent release of an album for a keyboard player who’s been recording in Jim’s studio for the last few years.  Jim and his wife officially retired in 2023, which gives him plenty of time to enjoy listening to and playing live music.  They reside in Littleton, CO.
